New Alt-Rock Music Festival Garage Days Heading To McLaren Vale In 2027

South Australia's newest music festival, Garage Days, brings the '90s to McLaren Vale next year.

Taking over Richard Hamilton Wines in McLaren Vale on Saturday 6 February 2027, the inaugural Garage Days features an all-Australian lineup led by legendary rockers Spiderbait alongside Perth quartet Jebediah, electronic trio The Potbelleez, heavy alt-rockers Gyroscope, indie stalwarts The Delta Riggs and South Australian favourites The Lizards. 

Celebrating the music that soundtracked a nation at the turn of the millennium, punters can relive their youth by dancing along to their favourite tunes while enjoying local food and wine in a beautiful locale.

"There's something about the music of the late ’90s and early 2000s that instantly takes you somewhere," says Garage Days director Sam Rose.

"These are songs people grew up with, went out to, fell in love to and probably still know every word to. Garage Days is about bringing those memories back, but doing it in a beautiful setting with great food, wine and an incredible live lineup. We also wanted to create something that families could enjoy together — where parents can share the music they loved with their kids and a younger generation can discover these incredible Australian bands live."

An all-ages event, Garage Days encourages parents to bring their kids and share in a day of live music, giving young music fans the chance to experience the bands that dominated the airwaves during the parents' youth.

The party vibes will continue between sets thanks to Adelaide MC JAKIJ, who'll be behind the decks spinning tunes to keep the energy up.

When it comes to the lineup, Garage Days have really nailed it. Spiderbait and Jebediah are as popular now as they were when they broke through almost 30 years ago, with Spiderbait celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1996 album Ivy & The Big Apples with sold-out shows across the country and Jebediah gearing up for the release of Are We OK?, a warts-and-all documentary charting the band's career.

Then there's electronic party-rockers The Potbelleez, who brought house music to the masses in the early 00s; Perth alternative outfit Gyroscope, known for their #1 charting third album Breed Obsession; Melbourne favs The Delta Riggs and SA's own The Lizards bringing the local flavour.

All in all, this sounds like a ripping day you don't want to miss out on!
