Local Electronic Festival Sidebyside Returns in 2027

Adelaide's very own electronic music festival Sidebyside is back in 2027 with its biggest lineup yet!

After this year's event sold out, the first in the festival's six-year history, organisers Company Works have revealed the fest will return to Tulya Wardli/Helen Mayo Park on Saturday 30 January 2027.

The stacked bill includes Australian artists Bella Claxton, Juicy Romance and not without friends alongside globally revered producer Silverlining, making his Sidebyside debut, Liquid Earth presenting his live show in Adelaide for the first time and UK house artist Captain Wallop. There will also be a special guest artist unveiled in the coming months.

Not only is the bill epic, but the seventh edition of Sidebyside will also feature new stage designs, world-class audio production, art installations and more space to explore beyond the dancefloor.

The success of Sidebyside demonstrates the willingness of local audiences to support live music, and also provides others with a blueprint to what works: curating a community experience that everyone can enjoy.

"At a time when festivals are disappearing from Adelaide, we are proud that Sidebyside is still here," said Festival Director Elliott Jamie. "In 2027, we are continuing to learn and cherish the opportunity to keep putting on a great party for everyone on home turf."

While music is at the heart of Sidebyside, with everything from house and techno to bass and disco soundtracking the festival, there is much more to discover in 2027.

Teaming with Sanctuary's arts program, there will be a dedicated space displaying numerous artworks, while new staging, lighting, scenography and creative direction will transform the inner-city site from day to night, delivering what the team describes as "a festival in the city that makes you feel like you've left the city".

Sidebyside's revolutionary time-based ticketing model, which encourages festivalgoers to arrive earlier than rock up for the headliners, is also returning, after more than half the crowd arrived before 4pm for this year's event.

"Seeing half the crowd through the gates before 4pm completely changed the rhythm of the festival," says Festival Director Henry Jarman.

"There was energy on the dancefloor from the beginning; artists were playing to proper crowds, and the festival felt alive all afternoon and evening.

"Sidebyside has always been about the collective experience. The people make the party, and in 2027, we want to build on that feeling from the moment the gates open."
