Arguably one of the country's most underrated outfits, Telenova have this week shared their latest single 'Happy'.

The band's first taste of new music since the release of their sophomore album THE WARNING earlier this year, the track arrives ahead of Telenova's regional tour of Tassie and Victoria in November and their national support slot with Spacey Jane across December.

Co-written and co-produced with Styalz Fuego (Troye Sivan, Mallrat, Foster The People) and mixed by Cameron Parkin, 'Happy' is reminiscent of early Lykke Li and anchored by frontwoman Angeline Armstrong's pleading refrain, "I just want to be happy", something we can all relate to.

"Despite the tough exteriors, the 'having it together', the nonchalant facades that a lot of us out there wear, we're all masking hurts, disappointments, insecurities at times," explains Armstrong. "'Happy' is a bit of a 'heart cry', we wanted to give voice to what a lot of people in this world are feeling in a very real and simple way."

'Happy' arrives accompanied by a new visualiser directed by Armstrong.

Since emerging in 2021 with their debut EP Tranquilize, Telenova have impressed with each subsequent release, culminating this year with the release of their acclaimed sophomore album THE WARNING, which was born out of a turbulent time for the band.

In our interview with Armstrong ahead of the release of THE WARNING, she shared that there was "unease" between the trio during the making of the album and that there was "a lot of personal stuff that needed addressing."

Thankfully, they worked through their issues and dropped one of the best records of 2026.

Having toured Australia and Europe and supported the likes of girl in red, St Vincent and RUEL, Telenova continue to deliver the goods with every release, with 'Happy' hopefully a sign of what's to come.

'Happy' is out now. Listen here. Catch Telenova supporting Spacey Jane at The Drive on Sunday 6 December. Tickets on sale at ticketmaster.com.au.
