James Marriott has been forced to postpone his upcoming Australian tour after his flights were cancelled due to the war in the Middle East.
The Swiss-born English singer-songwriter was scheduled to tour Australia this month in support of his sophomore album, Don’t Tell The Dog.
“Hi everyone. I wanted to share an update about my Australian tour,” Marriott posted on Instagram stories.
“With the ongoing conflict in the Middle East right now, our flights to and from Australia have unfortunately been cancelled. We’ve explored every option we could to try and make this tour happen, but sadly under the current circumstances it’s not viable to ensure our large tour entourage can get there swiftly and safely.
“Therefore with a heavy heart, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to postpone the upcoming tour dates. This really isn’t something I ever want to do, we were all so excited to come and play new and old music for you.”
He added, “Please know this isn’t a cancellation, the team are working on rescheduling the tour so we can get back out and play for you as soon as it’s safe for us to travel and we can get the venues booked. Hang onto your tickets, as soon as we have more information on the rescheduled dates, I’ll share it with you all.”
