Iron & Wine’s tour coincides with the release of his eighth studio album, Hen’s Teeth, which drops on Friday 27 February via Sub Pop (pre-order here).
The record was written and recorded in engineer Dave Way’s (Fiona Apple, Jakob Dylan, Sheryl Crow) LA Studio and features collaborations with Beam’s daughter Arden, American trio I’m With Her, David Garza, Sebastian Steinberg, Tyler Chester, Griffin Goldsmith, Beth Goodfellow, Kyle Crane and Paul Cartwright.
Speaking about the album title in press material, Beam said: “To me it suggests the impossible. Hen’s teeth do not exist. And that’s what this record felt like: a gift that shouldn’t be there but it is. An impossible thing but it’s real.”
Catch Iron & Wine at WOMADelaide on Friday 6 March. Tickets on sale now via womadelaide.com.au. Hen’s Teeth arrives via Sub Pop on Friday 27 February. Pre-order here.
