Inspiral Carpets Announce 2027 Australian & New Zealand Tour

UK alt-rock icons Inspiral Carpets are returning to Australian and New Zealand shores in 2027.

Emerging from the UK indie scene of the '80s, Inspiral Carpets were part of the Manchester holy trinity alongside the likes of Stone Roses and Happy Mondays.

The band are playing all their biggest hits on this tour, including 'This Is How It Feels', 'Saturn 5', 'She Comes in the Fall', 'Joe', 'Dragging Me Down' and more.

Inspiral Carpets' The Singles Tour commences with two shows in WA at Perth's Rosemount Hotel on Thursday 29 April and Fremantle's Freo.social on Friday 30 April.

The tour continues with shows at The Gov in Adelaide on Saturday 1 May, The Triffid in Brisbane on Thursday 6 May, Metro Theatre in Sydney on Friday 7 May and Northcote Theatre in Melbourne on Saturday 8 May, finishing up in New Zealand at San Fran in Wellington on Wednesday 12 May.

Pre-sale begins at 12pm AEST on Tuesday 29 September, followed by the general on-sale at 12pm AEST on Thursday 1 October. Ticketing information is available at metropolistouring.com.

Formed in 1983, Inspiral Carpets were one of the big success stories of the '80s Madchester scene and became known for their "cool as fuck" T-shirts, which music lovers wore to their gigs.

The band have released five albums over the journey, with their first three – Life (1990), The Beast Inside (1991) and Revenge of the Goldfish (1992) – topping the UK Albums Chart.

After officially reforming for a second time in 2023, Inspiral Carpets toured the UK before coming down under, with their 2027 tour coinciding with the release of their upcoming sixth studio album, Burn Like the Sun, their first in almost two decades.
