Gomez's Ben Ottewell & Ian Ball Announce 2027 Australian & New Zealand Tour

Ben Ottewell and Ian Ball, the co-founders and co-lead vocalists of UK outfit Gomez, return to Australian and New Zealand shores in 2027.

The duo are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their iconic album In Our Gun, performing tracks from the acclaimed record such as 'Shot Shot', 'Detroit Swing 66', 'Ruff Stuff' and 'Ping One Down', alongside undeniable Gomez classics including 'Whippin’ Piccadilly', 'Get Myself Arrested' and more.

Speaking about the tour, BT at Love Police said: "We first toured Gomez in 2000. For a solid 13 years, they visited here every couple of years until the band went on a kind of hiatus. But then the solo tours for Ben, and then Ian, and then Ben and Ian together began. They have seemingly never left us. We have all gone through a lot together. Australia really is their second home, and it’s always a treat to see the joy on people’s faces singing along to the hits they know and love for over 26 years now. Great to have these two back for our 30th year celebrations. It may never stop!"

Otterwell and Ball's tour kicks off in Perth at Rosemount Hotel on Friday 5 March, followed by gigs at Fremantle, Bangalow, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Torquay, Hobart, Canberra and Sydney, before the two head to New Zealand for shows at Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland's Powerstation on Thursday 25 March.

Brit-pop icons Gomez's debut album Bring It On dropped in 1998, landing at #11 on the UK Albums Chart and going on to win the Mercury Music Prize.

Their sophomore record Liquid Skin followed 18 months later, peaking at #2 on the UK Albums Chart, followed by 2002's In Out Gun, a favourite amongst fans.

Across their career, Gomez have released seven studio albums, with their most recent being 2011's Whatever's on Your Mind. Despite the lack of new music over the past 15 years, Ottewell and Bell continue to tour, playing to large crowds across the globe, particularly here in Australia where they have a loyal fanbase.
