Get ready for a super dose of ‘80s pop nostalgia when British supergroup Go West and American sweetheart Debbie Gibson teamup for a doubleheader national tour of Australia this August and September.

Two of the biggest acts of the ‘80s will take over venues across the country performing all their biggest hits, with Go West delivering classics such as ‘We Close Our Eyes’, ‘King Of Wishful Thinking’ and ‘Call Me’, while Debbie Gibson brings her chart-topping anthems ‘Only In My Dreams’, ‘Foolish Beat’, ‘Electric Youth’ and the beloved ballad ‘Lost In Your Eyes’.

“It is always a pleasure and a privilege to play for our Australian fans who have been with us for four decades,” says Go West’s Peter Cox. “Unfortunately Richard can’t be with me this time due to ill health, but I am looking forward to singing our hits and more with the mighty Go West band at some of my favourite venues. See you soon, Australia!”

Debbie Gibson adds, “I’m so thrilled to return to Australia at long last! My fans down under have remained loyal through the decades and supporting Go West on their 40th anniversary tour is a dream come true!”

Peter Cox and Richard Drummie formed Go West in the early ‘80s and quickly found success with their debut single, ‘We Close Our Eyes’, which peaked at #5 on the UK Singles Chart in 1985. Their self-titled debut album soon followed and sold an impressive 2 million copies worldwide, remaining in the UK charts for 83 weeks.

The duo had another burst of popularity in 1990 when their single ‘King of Wishful Thinking’ appeared in the rom-com Pretty Woman, with the track reaching the ARIA Singles Chart top ten.

Although it’s been over a decade since they last released an album, Cox and Drummie still tour sporadically and retain a large fan base across the globe.

Often referred to as the “Original Pop Princess”, Debbie Gibson has achieved a great deal over the course of her career. The youngest artist in history to write, produce and perform a #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with the single ‘Foolish Beat’ at just 17, Gibson has sold more than 16 million albums worldwide and had an ARIA Top ten hit with the track ‘Lost In Your Eyes’.

Along with a massively successful music career, Gibson has built an extensive stage career, starring in 17 musicals over 17 years, including Les MisérablesGreaseBeauty and the BeastGypsyJoseph and the Amazing Technicolour DreamcoatChicago, and Cabaret.
