Uber-talented Melbourne singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer G Flip has shared new single, ‘In Another Life’, the third single taken from their upcoming album, Dream Ride.
Arriving September 5 via AWAL Recordings, Dream Ride is G Flip’s third album and most personal work yet. Latest single ‘In Another Life’ is a vibrant dose of ‘80s synth-pop, capturing G Flip’s new musical direction.
Dream Ride was co-written and co-produced by regular G Flip collaborator Aidan Hogg and contains the previously released singles ‘Disco Cowgirl’ and ‘Big Ol’ Hammer’, along with ‘In Another Life’.
“Dream Ride feels like the story of the past few years of my life – the highs, the crashes, and everything in between,” says G. “I’ve never been more honest in my songwriting and I’ve never pushed myself harder in the studio.”
Beginning life as a session musician and bedroom producer, G Flip took the world by storm with the 2018 release of their debut single, ‘About You’. Not only did it premiere on triple j the same day it was uploaded to the triple j Unearthed site, but the track was also named “Best New Track” by Pitchfork.
G Flip’s debut album, About Us, landed at #6 on the ARIA Chart in 2019 and was followed by their ARIA #1 album DRUMMER in 2023.
Highlighted by singles including ‘Be Your Man,’ ‘The Worst Person Alive,’ and ‘Good Enough,’ the album scored G Flip three ARIA Awards and propelled them to superstardom.
‘In Another Life’ is out now via AWAL Records. Dream Ride arrives September 5 and is available to pre-order here.
