Foo Fighters Release Vevo 'Extended Play' Short Film

American rockers Foo Fighters have teamed with Vevo, the world's leading music video network, for a short film featuring live performances and the band discussing their most recent release, Your Favorite Toy.

Filmed at Foo Fighters' 606 studio in Los Angeles, the 27-minute video includes live renditions of Your Favorite Toy songs 'Child Actor', 'Of All People', 'Caught In The Echo' and 'Unconditional', along with the band chatting about the record over a potluck dinner, which I learned at today's years old is a communal dinner experience where everyone brings one dish each.

Dave Grohl kicks things off with BLTs, keyboardist Rami Jaffee shares his "Los Angeles Kugel", bassist Nate Mendel brings two types of Salmon, guitarist Chris Shiflett supplies green beans, drummer Ilan Rubin provides freshly baked bread and guitarist Pat Smear brings a smile to everyone's face with ice cream sandwiches.

It's great to see the band sit down in a relaxed setting and discuss the music, with Grohl commenting, "I like the new songs just because they feel comfortable to play." Rubin adds, "Nothing felt…uncomfortable." 

The Vevo team were just as stoked for the band to take part in this mini-doco, with JP Evangelista, EVP of Content, Programming and Marketing, Vevo saying, "Working with Foo Fighters was an incredible experience for our entire team. From the moment we started collaborating, it was clear why they've stayed at the top of rock for over two decades: the energy, musicianship and passion they bring to every performance is truly unmatched.

Fans keen to hear tracks from Your Favorite Toy live have the chance to do so when Foo Fighters hit Australia and New Zealand this summer. The Foos aren't going it alone, recruiting a slew of awesome Aussie and Kiwi artists to join them on the road, including Full Flower Moon Band, The Belair Lip Bombs, Dick Move, Southern River Band and Adelaide’s own Kurralta Park.

Foo Fighters’ Take Cover Tour kicks off on Thursday 5 November 2026 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. The band then plays shows at Townsville's Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Saturday 7 November 2026, Sydney's Accor Stadium on Tuesday 10 November 2026, Newcastle's McDonalds Jones Stadium on Thursday 12 November 2026, Melbourne's Marvel Stadium on Saturday 14 November 2026 and Adelaide's Coopers Stadium on Tuesday 17 November 2026.

Heading home for the festive season, the Foos return in January for two shows in New Zealand at Christchurch's One New Zealand Stadium on Tuesday 19 January 2027 and Auckland's Western Springs Stadium on Friday 22 January 2027, before wrapping things up with a final blowout in Perth at HBF Park on Monday 25 January 2027.
