After announcing their return to Australia and New Zealand later this year for a run of arena shows, rock superstars Foo Fighters have today shared the title track from their upcoming 12th studio album Your Favorite Toy, out Friday 24 April (pre-order here).
The title track is a ripping arena rock song that’s both familiar and fresh, and one that fans of the Foo’s are gonna love. The guitar solo is straight out of the ‘80s and the keyboard adds another element to the pulsating rocker.
Recorded at home, the album was co-produced by Foo Fighters and Oliver Roman, engineered by Roman and mixed by Mark “Spike” Stent and features ten tracks, including last year’s single, ‘Asking for a Friend’.
“‘Your Favorite To’ really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album,” commented Dave Grohl. We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.”
Foo Fighters’ upcoming nine-date stadium tour of Australia and New Zealand will see the band performing all their biggest hits, including ‘Everlong’, ‘The Pretender’, ‘Learning To Fly’, ‘Monkey Wrench’ and more, along with their new tracks ‘Your Favorite Toy’ and ‘Asking for a Friend’.
Joining the Foo’s on tour are a bunch of awesome special guests, including Full Flower Moon Band, The Belair Lip Bombs, Dick Move, Southern River Band and Adelaide’s own Kurralta Park.

Foo Fighters have been one of the biggest rock acts on the planet for over three decades. During that time, they’ve released 11 studio albums, eight of which topped the ARIA Album Charts, won 15 Grammy Awards and played the biggest stages and festivals all over the world.
Despite a rough few years with the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins and Grohl’s extramarital activities, the Foo Fighters appear reenergised and ready for anything, with the current lineup of Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee and Ilan Rubin looking forward to returning to Australia and New Zealand later this year.
