Flotsam and Jetsam & Mortal Sin Announce Co-Headline Australian Tour 2026
By The Note

Adelaide’s own Hidden Intent and Sydney’s Livewire have been tapped as support.
American thrash metal icons Flotsam and Jetsam and Aussie thrash pioneers Mortal Sin have announced a co-headline tour across Australia this September and October.
The joint venture marks Flotsam and Jetsam’s debut visit to our shores after more than 40 years of ripping up stages around the globe. Along with Mortal Sin, who recently reunited after a 13-year hiatus, the two thrash metal beasts will be joined by Adelaide’s own Hidden Intent and Sydney’s Livewire.
Flotsam and Jetsam are touring in support of their upcoming new album Rats In The Temple, due out Friday 28 August via Napalm Records, which vocalist Eric “A.K.” Knutson described as “our best effort to date.”
Flotsam and Jetsam’s whirlwind tour of Oz alongside Mortal Sin kicks off in Brisbane at Crowbar on Wednesday 30 September. The bands then hit The Gov in Adelaide on Thursday 1 October, travel to Max Watts in Melbourne on Friday 2 October and wrap things up at Crowbar in Sydney on Saturday 3 October.

At one stage featuring bassist Jason Newsted before he joined Metallica, Flotsam and Jetsam are considered legends of the thrash metal genre. From their landmark debut Doomsday for the Deceiver through to modern thrash masterpieces like The End of Chaos, Blood in the Water and I Am The Weapon, the Arizona legends continue to prove why they remain one of the genre’s most ferocious live acts.
Fronted by the unmistakable voice of A.K. Knutson, Flotsam and Jetsam’s current lineup also includes founding guitarist Michael Gilbert alongside fellow guitarist Steve Conley, drummer Ken Mary and bassist Bill Bodily.
Witnessing Flotsam and Jetsam touring Australia for the first time is worth the price of admission alone, but when you throw in Mortal Sin, fresh from appearances at major European festivals including Keep It True Festival, Alcatraz Metal Festival and Brutal Assault, along with local supports Hidden Intent and Livewire, it makes this show unmissable.
Catch Flotsam and Jetsam at Lion Arts Factory on Thursday 1 October. Tickets and info available at churchesofsteel.com.
