In the leadup to the release of their highly anticipated second album, Make It Feel Like the Garden, Gold Coast indie rockers Eliza & The Delusionals are hitting the road this August.
The trio – comprising Eliza Klatt, Kurt Skuse and Ruby Lee – has locked in five dates, kicking things off in Sydney at Oxford Art Factory on Friday, August 2. Eliza & The Delusionals then play shows at Howler in Melbourne on Saturday, August 3, Jive in Adelaide on Friday, August 9, Jack Rabbit Slim’s in Perth on Saturday, August 10 and The Triffid in Brisbane on Friday, August 16.
Tickets for all five shows go on sale this Friday, June 14 via Handsome Tours.
Dropping Friday, July 19, Make It Feel Like The Garden was first developed while Eliza & The Delusions were touring North America in 2022. Guitarist Skuse and vocalist Klatt wrote the majority of the album at their DIY studio in Napa, California. The trio then returned home to Australia to lay down the album’s tracks with producer Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, CLEWS, Amy Shark) at his home studio in Rye, Victoria.
In a statement about writing and recording the 12-track album, Klatt had this to say: “It was interesting to see how working in a different part of the world, outside of the comfort of our home studio and Australia in general, has influenced our writing and the process of demoing the songs. Recording the album with Oscar Dawson was an incredibly collaborative experience. He continued to push us out of our comfort zones which led us to feeling really free creatively. I think this also made us write in our most honest and genuine form.”
Eliza & The Delusionals plays Jive on Saturday, August 3. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 14 via Handsome Tours. Make It Feel Like the Garden is available for pre-order here.
