Soundsurge Promotions, the same crew behind the awesome SoundSurge festival of the past couple of years, are back with brand new event, Downpour Festival.
This all-ages event features 12 of the country’s best heavy acts taking to the UniBar Adelaide stage on Saturday 8 August.
Press material says Downpour Festival is set to deliver “a large-scale, full-day showcase of heavy alternative music built on atmosphere, groove and power.”
The day of rabid riffs is headlined by Melbourne hard rockers Mammal, who released their long-awaited sophomore album, The Penny Drop, in 2024, an incredible 16 years after their debut.
The lineup represents Australia’s diverse heavy music scene, with Mammal joined on stage by Melbourne prog rockers Khan, local face melters Control the Sun, alt-rock trio The Unset, hypepunk three-piece MACËY, metalcore beasts Outerworlds and instrumental trio Skin Thief.
The bill also features skeleton boys Nocturnal Animals, Port Pirie nu metal meets alternative act Suffer the Evenue, metal groovers Akira Slide, hard-hitting rockers Terra Axis and three-piece post-rock outfit Mountains Below.
Doors open at 12:30pm, with the first band kicking things off shortly after. First release tickets are on sale now for just $46.49 + bf, which is pretty darn good when you consider the number of bands and who is performing.
