As she prepares for the release of her highly anticipated debut album, Who You Are, out Friday 1 May via Island Records Australia, rising country pop artist Rachael Fahim has shared new single ‘Deep End’ and announced an Australian tour.
Written between Nashville, Los Angeles and Sydney, Who You Are is a raw and honest collection of tracks exploring human emotions.
The album’s latest single, ‘Deep End’, arrives ahead of Fahim jumping on tour with US superstar Jordan Davis next week, and is the only love song on her upcoming album. Depicting the highs and lows of a relationship, it’s a positive take on love, showcasing Fahim’s talents as a songwriter.
“After a lifetime of feeling lost, guarded and half-prepared for things to fall apart when it came to guys I’d date, this song captures the moment you meet someone who makes you want to believe again,” says Fahim. “It’s about choosing vulnerability over fear, giving your whole heart instead of holding back, and learning that real love isn’t just for the weekends – it’s for every messy, beautiful day in between.
Fahim has also revealed a run of tour dates, beginning with two shows next month in April at Blacktown’s Rodeo on Wednesday 18 April and Wollongong’s La La La’s on Thursday 30 April.
The tour continues with shows at the Camden Hotel in Camden on Friday 1 May, the Tourist Hotel in Canberra on Saturday 2 May, Northcote Social Club in Melbourne on Thursday 7 May, Jive in Adelaide on Saturday 9 May and Blackbear Lodge in Brisbane on Friday 15 May.
The final stretch of the tour includes the Distillery Road Market in Logan on Saturday 16 May, The Stag & Hunter Hotel in Newcastle on Friday 22 May, The Lansdowne in Sydney on Saturday 23 May and Drifters Wharf in Gosford on Friday 29 May.
