Converge Headline New Melbourne Heavy Festival Lucidity

Destroy All Lines have announced a new heavy music and hardcore punk festival, Lucidity, taking over Melbourne Pavilion on Saturday 13 March 2027.

Legendary metalcore pioneers Converge will headline the inaugural Lucidity, perfomring their iconic album Jane Doe (which turns 25) in full for just the third time in their career, following sets at Roadburn in 2016 and Decibel Metal & Beer Fest in 2021. 

Converge will be joined by post-black metal hardcore hybrid Oathbreaker, with the Belgian outfit celebrating 10 years since the release of their 2016 album Rheia, which they will play in its entirety.

If that doesn't get the blood flowing, the lineup also includes Australian powerviolence unit Extortion, Texan metal punks Portrayal of Guilt, Melbourne post-metal act The Broderick and misanthropic black metal trio Wiegedood.

Ends In Tragedy, Blind Girls, Isua and Melting will represent a diverse array of some of the finest domestic metal and hardcore sounds, going to well and truly set the stage.

There's much more to Lucidity than just music. The festival will also house Homewrecker Records, an exclusive pop-up record store installation designed and hand-built by visual artist Callum Preston, host live artist Q&As moderated by the Oblivious Maximus podcast, as well as market stalls, food trucks and more.
