Carcass Plot ‘Putrefying Down Under’ Australian and New Zealand Tour 2026

The UK death metal brutes will be supported by American extreme metal outfit Brujeria.

UK death metal icons Carcass are returning to Australia and New Zealand with their Putrefying Down Under Tour.

One of the few extreme metal bands to sign to a major label, Carcass are considered pioneers of the grindcore subgenre and are known for their fierce live shows where anything can happen.

Carcass will be joined on the road by LA extreme outfit Brujeria, making their Australian return after nine years.

The Putrefying Down Under Tour begins in Australia at Perth’s Magnet House on Tuesday 22 September. Shows then follow at Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory (Thursday 24 September), Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre (Friday 25 September), Sydney’s Liberty Hall (Saturday 26 September), Brisbane’s Princess Theatre (Tuesday 29 September) and Townsville’s The Warehouse (Wednesday 30 September), bringing things to a close in New Zealand at Auckland’s The Studio on Friday 2 October.

Formed in 1985, Carcass are death metal masters, whose sound incorporates elements of grindcore and melodic metal.

Over a career spanning more than 40 years (including an almost decade-long hiatus), Carcass have released seven studio albums, garnered over 327,000 monthly streams on Spotify and influenced a generation of metal bands, including Napalm Death, Exhumed, and Slayer.

Brujeria are just as influential in the extreme metal genre, with the Spanish language band’s songs often addressing serious subjects such as politics, narcotics and immigration, with their career comprising five albums and a rotating cast of talented musicians.
