Raised on a diet of hop hop as a kid, Blacc began writing raps at age nine before developing a love for soul music, discovering artists such as Donny Hathaway and Marvin Gaye.
Inking a deal with indie label Stones Throw, Blacc dropped his debut solo record Shine Through in 2006 and followed up four years later with Good Things, which included the breakout single ‘I Need a Dollar’.
Since then, Blacc has earned a Grammy nod, collaborated with everyone from LeAnn Rimes and Steve Aoki to Flight Facilities and The Bamboos and released a further four albums, including last year’s Stand Together.
Fans heading along to see Blacc can look forward to hearing both new and old material as one of the world’s most loved soul and R&B artists hits selected venues in September.
