After postponing his April performance, the ‘Amazing’ singer has locked in a new date for this September.
After cancelling his April performance in Adelaide, singer-songwriter Alex Lloyd has announced a rescheduled date this August at The Gov.
One of the country's most underrated singer-songwriters, the four-time ARIA Award winner is performing at The Gov on Sunday, September 22.
The Sydney muso, who has been everpresent in the Aussie music scene for over two decades, burst onto the scene in 1999 with his acclaimed debut album, Black the Sun. A surprise hit, the album peaked at #9 on the ARIA Charts and went on to be certified 2x platinum. It was also voted by triple j listeners as their album of the year and helped Lloyd claim the ARIA Award for Best Male Artist at the 2000 ceremony.
Things took off two years later in 2001 when Lloyd’s single ‘Amazing’ made it to #14 on the ARIA Charts and was voted as the #1 song by triple j listeners in the radio station’s annual Hottest 100 Countdown. ‘Amazing’ was taken from Lloyd’s sophomore album Watching Angels Mend, another rollicking success that helped Lloyd claim his second ARIA award for Best Male Artist.

Since then Lloyd’s career has been nothing short of remarkable, with the talented singer-songwriter releasing a string of chart-topping hits – including ‘Green’, ‘Coming Home’ and ‘Beautiful’ – dropping seven well-received albums and embarking on several highly successful tours.
Although it’s been eight years since his last LP, 2016s ARIA Charts Top 50 album Acoustica, Lloyd continues to tour regularly and release new music, with 2023s ‘Forever’ his most recent single.
Lloyd has formed a special bond with his audience thanks to his introspective songwriting that resonates with people of all ages. When not captivating audiences with his mesmerizing live performances, he lends his support to various charitable causes, striving to make a positive impact on the world.
