Feb 27 - This Week’s Fringe Picks
By The Note

Feeling overwhelmed by the mad month of Fringe? Bamboozled by more than 1400 shows written up in 7-point type beneath a blizzard of icons? Well, fear not! The Note’s reviewers have done a bit of cherry-picking…
SANCTUARY
What: From SidebySide Festival comes the sensory playground that is Sanctuary. A considered selection of international performers, DJ’s and artists will fill Helen Mayo Park, transformed into an after- world oasis filled with ever-evolving artworks
When: Mar 8-16 | Helen Mayo Park
Why: With a strong message of inclusivity and a dedication to quality, this will be the place to be all Fringe long!

ONE NIGHT ONLY
What: Expect award-winning musicians and immersive art every Friday night at The Lab for Only Night Only, the exclusive live music event running throughout Fringe.
When: Feb 16-Mar 15 | The Lab at ILA | M
Why: We don't use the word 'unique' lightly when describing a venue. But how The Lab fuses art with music is something special everyone should experience this Fringe. This weekend, see The Empty Threats and Plastiq

MUMS FAVOURITE PRESENT ROCKOLOGY 101
What: Class will be in session at The Clovy when award-winning outfit Mums Favourite take audiences through a flying revisions of rock 'n' roll history.
When: Mar 2 | The Colvercrest Hotel | G
Why: What's not to love about a 105-minute blast of classic rock (think Joan Jett, Pink Floyd and Blondie) but one of Adelaide's best emerging bands.

ASHES: A COMEDY SHOWDOWN
What: Australia's top comedians take on England's best in a five test comedy series to claim the Comedy ashes.
When: Mar 2-Mar 11 | Upstairs at Belgian Beer Cafe 'Oostende' | M
Why: It could settle the age-old question which country is funnier. Expect rivalry, tension and sledging. And a lot of gags.

RHINO ROOM LATE SHOW
What: Adelaide Fringe's longest-running show, featuring 80+ comics from across the entire festival. The best part? You've got no idea who you're seeing 'til they're on the velvet-draped stage.
When: Feb 16 - Mar 16 (Fridays and Saturdays) | Rhino Room | R18+
Why: Whether it's local talent or an international comedy superstar on stage, this chaotic, late-night, lucky dip of a show goes hard on the giggles (and beer).

CIRCUS OF FACTS
What: Fusion of fantasy and reality, where the fabulous unfolds with the fall of night. Get ready to be flabbergasted for this is a once-in-a-lifetime festival of 'F'
When: Feb 16-Mar 17 | The Vault at Fool's Paradise | G/M+
Why: This show packs multiple genres into one circus style act using local and international performers. Two shows cater for both G and M audiences.

KINETOGRAPH
What: An exhibition exploring the power of film through a multitude of mediums, curated by several of South Australia's emerging young creatives.
When: Mar 1 | Cold Krush Store | G
Why: If you've ever felt profoundly affected by film, cinematography or moving image artwork, this free event is sure to hit home.
