Aaron Chen Reveals ‘Technology’ Australian & New Zealand Tour

The New York-based stand-up is performing at AEC Theatre in October.

Funnyman Aaron Chen is bringing his new stand-up show Technology to Australia and New Zealand this September and October.

Now based in New York, Chen is returning home for 12 shows across the country, making this his biggest tour yet. Riding high after the success of last year’s Funny Garden stand-up, which was also released as a Netflix special, fans can expect Chen’s deadpan humour and astute comic observations as he dives into technology and its role in the modern world during his new one-hour show.

Chen kicks things off in Sydney at the State Theatre on Thursday 10 September and follows up with three gigs in Melbourne at the Palais Theatre on Tuesday 15, Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 September.

The comic then pops down to Tassie for a matinee and evening show at Hobart’s Odeon Theatre on Saturday 19 September, two gigs in Brisbane at QPAC Concert Hall on Monday 21 and Wednesday 23 September, a one-off performance at Riverside Theatre in Perth on Friday 25 September and two shows at Adelaide’s AEC Thearer on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 October, wrapping up the tour in New Zealand at Auckland’s KTK Theatre on Saturday 10 October.

Since his first stand-up performance in 2017, Aaron Chen has fast evolved into one of the country’s funniest comics, gaining a worldwide audience through his relatable humour and deadpan delivery.

A multiple award winner, having claimed the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Best Newcomer, Director’s Choice and the 2024 People’s Choice Award for highest ticket sales, Chen has also released several stand-up specials, had a starring role in Aussie comedy Fisk and appeared on several panel shows, including Have You Been Paying Attention?.
