Esha Tewari’s music is like poetry strung to chords. The lyrics sound like something out of a Sombr or Conan Gray song; pure yearning, straight heartbreak, with a side of acoustic guitar and beautiful harmonies, which is what made it stand out to me. It sounds like watching the one that got away walk out of your life for the last time from the window of your car, with the rain falling around you as you can’t take your eyes off of them. A perfect ballad for when you’re reminiscing on someone you once knew, written by one of Australia’s own.

Sounds like: Flipping through the pages of an old journal and reminiscing on someone you one knew.

Elianie - ‘apathetic’

“I’ve got nothing left to say” about Elianie’s latest single ‘apathetic’, except that the Perth Hills pop-soul artist combines groove with bedroom pop in a room filled with intergalactic stars. With a radiant buildup, encapsulating a subtle sound story, occasional chimes of phones and blows of whistles entice the soothingly upbeat melodies that surround the track. Her indulgent yet affirmative vocals speak profound volumes on the releasement of a conflicting connection, with a saxophone echoing these thoughts throughout and in a soloing conclusion. This unique tune can reflect the funky musicality of Remi Wolf, the gently tender lyricism of Olivia Dean, and her own heartfelt individuality that sticks.

Sounds like: Vibing in your room alone at night with a skylight projector shining your ceiling.
