Dem Mob, Ella Ion And Electric Fields Lead Nominations For 2025 South Australian Music Awards

 

This year’s ceremony takes place at AEC Theatre on Tuesday 28 October.

The nominations for the 2025 South Australian Music Awards have been unveiled, with DEM MOB leading the way with a whopping five nods.

More than 115 acts, managers and industry representatives have been nominated across three award categories: People’s Choice, Industry, and Major Awards. Presented by MusicSA, the 2025 SA Music Awards will be held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre on Tuesday 28 October. 

Leading the way is First Nations hip hop act DEM MOD, who have been nominated for two Major Awards (Best Regional Artist and Best Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Artist), two Industry Awards (Best Music Educator and Best Manager for DJ/MC Gully) and one People’s Choice Award (Best Hip Hop Artist).

Indie folk singer-songwriter Ella Ion has four nominations for Best Song, Best New Artist, Best Folk Artist and Best Cover Art, while Electric Fields got three nods for Best Group, Best Release (EP/Album) and Best Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Artist.

Other local artists up for awards include Oscar the Wild, The Genevieves, TOWNS, aleksiah and The Tullamarines. Check out the full list of nominees below.
