Rodrigo y Gabriela Announce Australian Tour 2027

The Mexican duo are touring in support of their forth coming new album, 'OurHome'.

Regular guests on our shores in recent years, Mexican musical duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have announced they are returning in 2027 for a run of shows celebrating their new album, OurHome.

Released Friday 18 September via ATO Records, the album was recorded and self‑produced by the band at NK Sound Tokyo. Spurred on to create after the passing of their beloved studio cat, Pelusa, OurHome features collaborations with former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman, Japanese jazz pianist Hiromi, cellist Hiyori Okuda and guitarist/composer Yukihiro Atsumi.

Mixed by five‑time GRAMMY winner Dave Sardy (The Who, Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and mastered by Stephen Marcussen (Nirvana, R.E.M., The Rolling Stones), OurHome is a love letter to Japan that also explores finding peace wherever you are in the world.

Touring in support of the record, Rodrigo y Gabriela get things underway in Brisbane at Fortitude Music Hall on Wednesday 13 January. The duo of Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero then drop in on Sydney's Enmore Theatre on Thursday 14 January, followed by shows at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne on Friday 15 January and Hobart's Odeon Theatre on Sunday 17 January, finishing up at Adelaide's The Gov on Tuesday 19 January and the Regal Theatre in Perth on Thursday 21 January.

Bonding over their love of music in their teens, Sánchez and Quintero have been redefining what acoustic guitar can be over the past two decades.

Incorporating a wide range of genres into their sound, the duo have gone from busking on the streets of Dublin to winning a Grammy Award for their 2020 album, Mettavolution.

Having sold out shows across the globe and performed at major festivals including Glastonbury and WOMADelaide, Rodrigo y Gabriela's upcoming Australian tour gives audiences the chance to hear songs from their new album live for the first time, along with all the biggest and best tracks from their stacked back catalogue.
