The indie duo’s new album arrives just over a year since the release of their 2025 debut, Old Mervs.

Indie rockers Old Mervs are wasting no time when it comes to releasing a new album, announcing their sophomore record Carparks is set to drop just over a year since the release of their Top 5 ARIA self-titled debut album.

Arriving on Friday 2 October via Dew Process/Universal Music, Carparks was produced by Chris Collins (Royel Otis, Ruby Fields, Matt Corby) and mixed on the fly, keeping the energy of Carparks honest. “You'd drive home and listen and be like, that was sick,” says drummer Henry Carrington-Jones. “Or, hang on, that's not working.”

Following the release of ‘Heavy In The Morning’ and ‘Tether’, the duo have shared the album’s third single ‘She Said’, which was inspired by Carrington-Jones’ long-running obsession with MJ Lenderman. “You could argue it's a bit like She's Electric,” says vocalist and guitarist Dave House. “Oasis kind of has a similar sort of feel.”

The song is accompanied by an official music video shot on film by Perth-based videographer Andrew Briggs, who also directed and produced the clip across the backdrop of coastal towns Indijup and Yallingup in WA’s South West.

Since dropping their self-titled debut album in 2025, which peaked at #4 on the AIRA Albums Chart and included the singles ‘What You’ve Lost’, ‘Parched’, ‘Don’t Go’ and ‘Everyone Will See It’, Old Mervs have quickly become darlings of the Aussie indie scene.

The duo are currently gearing up for a massive run of headline shows across the UK and North America that includes festival appearances at Kendal Calling (UK), Boardmasters (UK), Florida Fin Fest (Florida) and Shaky Knees Festival (Georgia), before returning home for Rolling Sets Festival (Tweed Heads & Newcastle), Handpicked Festival (Langhorne Creek), Le Currents Festival in New Zealand and the freshly announced NYE On The HILL (South Gippsland).
