Nashville-based Aussie country singer Morgan Evans has shared new single ‘Letting You Go’, the latest track taken from his #1 charting Australian Country Album Steel Town.
‘Letting You Go’ is an upbeat guitar number written by Evans with fellow Aussie Lindsay Rimes. The single is accompanied by a music video filmed in Nashville that features Evans and Kyler Finney driving around the suburbs in a truck picking up discarded items.
Speaking on the clip, Morgan says, “I hope this gives you a good laugh! This song has always felt like a lighthearted, nostalgia-soaked release valve opening, and I wanted the video to feel the same way.
“Easily the most fun I’ve ever had making a music video. Shout out to comedian Kyler Finney for bringing the vibes and Director Quinton Cook for having the vision and helping bring it to life.
“Cheers to letting go of the shit that no longer serves you. And cheers to gas station hot dogs and the aspirational place where you play drums, with said hot dogs, on the steering wheel.”
The release of ‘Letting You Go’ coincides with Evans’ upcoming Australian and New Zealand tour that kicks off next month.
Joined by American artist Laci Kaye Booth, the Steel Town Tour makes its debut at Perth’s ICF Warehouse on Thursday 21 May. Dates follow at Melbourne’s Forum on Saturday 23 May, Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre on Monday 25 May, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Wednesday 27 May and Brisbane’s The Fortitude Music Hall on Saturday 30 May, before Evans heads to New Zealand for two shows at Auckland’s Powerstation on Tuesday 2 June and Christchurch’s Town Hall on Thursday 4 June.
“The Steel Town Tour will be the biggest tour I’ve ever done,” says Evans. “The biggest show, the biggest band and a record that was created to be shared live! I can’t fucking wait!”
