Comedians Melanie Bracewell and Tim McDonald have been revealed as the hosts of the ARIA Awards 2026 ceremony.

Taking place at The Hordern Pavilion on Wednesday 18 November in partnership with Spotify, Bracewell and McDonald, who are also the co-hosts of Network 10's The Cheap Seats, have been called a "natural fit" to helm the 40th anniversary edition of the ARIA Awards.

The dynamic duo will be joined by Eora-based DJ and presenter Latifa Tee, who is best known for hosting triple j's House Party and Doof, where she champions all-local, all-electronic music.

"Thrilled to host the ARIAs with my friend and colleague Tim McDonald," said Bracewell. "Hoping they didn't book us for experience. The last awards ceremony I hosted was a raffle for a meat tray."

McDonald added, "Australian music is the best in the world, so we are so excited and honoured to be hosting! I can’t wait to celebrate this music milestone - 40 years of the ARIA Awards, and 24 years since I failed the recorder in grade three."

The Red Carpet team for the Awards will feature Network 10's presenter Georgie Tunny and Entertainment Editor Angela Bishop, along with Latifa Tee, while music journalist and host of The Pop Pod, Sam Murphy, will again take over ARIA's social channels, bringing fans behind the scenes and into the action on the night.

The 40th Annual ARIA Awards in partnership with Spotify will air live on Paramount+ at 5pm AEDT and be broadcast on 10 following Big Brother on Wednesday 18 November. For more information, visit aria.com.au.

This year's ARIA Awards nominations were led by Genesis Owusu and Kevin Parker's Tame Impala, who are both up for eight awards, including Album of the Year, Best Solo Artist and Best Alternative Release.

Ecca Vandal, who returned earlier this year with her sophomore album LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW, has been nominated for seven awards, while Baker Boy, BOY SODA, G Flip, Miss Kaninna and Ninajirachi all scored five nods and DMA'S, Dom Dolla and Troye Sivan landed four nominations each.

Speaking about this year's event, ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd said, "We could not be more thrilled with this list of nominees to celebrate 40 years of Australian music and incredible human artistry. These records and these amazing artists represent the culmination of 40 years of Australian success in making great music that captures our unique voice and takes it global.

"As we continue to fight against the relentless assault on our copyright laws by foreign AI companies, this year’s ARIA Awards are a powerful moment to recognise the enduring power of music to give meaning to the human experience, connect Australians through our own stories and inspire us to feel truly alive. Congratulations to all the 2026 nominees."

The 40th ARIA Awards take place at The Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on Wednesday 18 November in partnership with Spotify and will be screened live on Paramount+ and broadcast on 10. Check out all the nominees below. For more information, visit aria.com.au.
