Aussie rock legends Hoodoo Gurus are hitting the road this November and December to commemorate the anniversary of their debut album, Stoneage Romeos.

Released in 1984, Stoneage Romeos was critically acclaimed by critics and announced the quartet as one of the nation’s most promising bands. Although the album only reached #29 on the ARIA Album Chart, it went on to win Best Debut Album at the 1984 Countdown Awards and spawned classic Hoodoo Gurus tracks ‘Tojo’, ‘My Girl’, ‘Leilani’, and ‘I Want You Back’.

Not only will Hoodoo Gurus play Stoneage Romeos in its entirety, but the band will treat fans to all their biggest hits and other fan favourites from their stacked back catalogue.

The 12-date tour starts in Thirroul at Anita’s Theatre on Thursday, November 14 before hitting Civic Theatre in Newcastle (Friday, November 15), The Entertainment Grounds in Gosford (Saturday, November 16), Palais Theatre in Melbourne (Friday, November 22), Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide (Saturday, November 23), Llewellyn Hall in Canberra (Thursday, November 28), Sydney Coliseum Theatre in Rooty Hill (Friday, November 29) and Enmore Theatre in Sydney (Saturday, November 30)

The December dates see Hoodoo Gurus play The Station on the Sunshine Coast (Friday, December 6), Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane (Saturday, December 7), Miami Marketta on the Gold Coast (Sunday, December 8) and Astor Theatre in Perth (Friday, December 13).

Joining Hoodoo Gurus on tour is a host of great Australian bands, including Tumbleweed, Dallas Crane, GANGgajang, Spy V Spy, Allniters, Screamfeeder and Rinehearts.

Stoneage Romeos was a pivotal album for us and many of its songs have remained live favourites ever since,” singer-guitarist Dave Faulkner says. “It'll be great to play some of those 'less-travelled' songs from it on this tour – even though that means we'll be playing longer sets to fit everything else in as well. Hah! To my mind that's a win-win situation.”

The national tour coincides with the re-release of Stoneage Romeos on limited edition vinyl. Each 12” picture disc is hand numbered and comes with a plethora of bonus material, including a 12” Zoetrope 1984: Live At The Chevron vinyl, A5 postcard and A2 poster/album commentary by Toby Creswell.

Hands down one of the country’s great rock acts, Hoodoo Gurus’ incredible career has seen them release ten albums, claim two ARIA Awards, be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2007 and regularly sell out shows across the nation.

Pre-sale commences Wednesday, May 15 at 9:30 am before the general sale begins Friday, May 17. Head to hoodooguru.com for all the ticket details.
