Sound Bites: Fenne Lily
We ask rising UK-born, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Fenne Lily a series of rapid-fire questions.

Today marks the release of UK artist Fenne Lily's fourth studio album, Win Win.
An album about heartbreak, Win Win reckons with the end of a relationship and the loss of a beloved pet. The album's songs were written over a year-and-a-half period shortly after Lily moved to the States and recorded old friends from England and new buddies she met in New York.
Ahead of the release of Win Win, we fired off some questions at Lily to find out more about the person behind the artist.

Wide, bright, howling.
What was the biggest lesson you took away from the making of Win Win?
There's a lot of different ways to sing the same song, and sometimes you have to try 'em all.

Being able to eat cheese. And my family…
What's the one song you've written that you would recommend to people unfamiliar with Fenne Lily?
'Uh Huh'.
Who are your four dream dinner guests?
David Sedaris, Jenny Slate, Chris Fleming and Grace Jones.
The Rolling Stones or The Beatles?
The Beatles.

Those wet fridge pickles in bags.
What's the best hangover cure?
Going back to sleep
Weirdest rider request?
We used to ask for Kinder eggs, for the toys. We always got them in Europe, America never delivered. I'd like to ask for a trampoline, but I don't think I'm at that level yet.
What album have you listened to the most?
Recently? The Old Beloved Path by Jake Xerxes Fussell. In life? Maybe Metals by Feist, or The Horizon Just Laughed by Damien Jurado.

AI doesn’t have humanity, so no.
Best live act you’ve ever seen?
The Rolling Stones.
What song do you wish you had written?
'When the Morning Comes' by Hall and Oates.
What's the best gig you've ever played?
I played in Switzerland and a naked man ran on stage and took my sunglasses off my face. That was pretty good.
Have you ever cried at a gig? If so, what gig and why?
Nick Cave at Primavera. He'd just lost his son and dedicated a song to children and the people who love them and I was sobbing.
What song would you like to have played at your funeral?
'Time' by Otis the 3rd.
Win Win by Fenne Lily is out now. Listen here.
