In the Green Room: Lily Rose
By The Note

Local legend, Lily Rose, has made a name for herself with her refreshingly honest skate-punk sound. Now, she’s taking her angst-driven tracks to this year’s Beer & BBQ Fest.
Congratulations on getting the call-up for Beer & BBQ Festival! What’s in store for us?
I’m so stoked to play this year! You can expect me to be high energy and just making the most of my time on stage. For Beer & BBQ, I’ll be mixing it up with some new songs in the set – it will be the first time we’re showcasing them. I’m keen to see a few of my all-time favourite bands, The Bennies and Dune Rats. They’ll be unreal to watch!
How did you find out you were playing the event?
It was all a huge surprise! I was asked whether I’d be free that day, and the next thing I know, I was on the posters. It was so unreal – I feel very lucky.
Tell us more about your new music.
I’ll be dropping a new single soon! Look out for ‘BLIND’ in early August. I’m so keen to release this one. It’s different to other Lily Rose singles but with that familiar skate-angst sound. I’ll be having a single launch at the Crown and Anchor on August 23 with some mad local bands. It’d be great for everyone to come join us!
You’ve also enlisted some of your best mates to help bring Lily Rose to life. What’s the dynamic like, jamming on stage?
The dynamic of playing with your best mates really is the absolute best. We have the time of our life [on stage] playing together. We’re all smiles on stage, love to bag each other out and just have fun with music.
See Lily Rose play at Beer & BBQ Fest this July 15. Tickets on sale now.
