Granite Island Discs: Tom Holmes

Fresh 92.7FM breakfast radio host Tom Holmes shares his five favourite songs.
What five songs would you take to a desert island?
1. David Bowie – ‘Moonage Daydream’
2. Led Zeppelin – ‘Bron-Yr-Aur’
3. Mac Miller – ‘Good News’
4. Parquet Courts – ‘Uncast Shadow of a Southern Myth’
5. Britney Spears – ‘Toxic’
If you could only pick one, what would it be?
I’d have to pick ‘Toxic’. I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite song but it sure as hell puts me and everyone around in the best mood and gears up for the perfect night!
What’s your favourite album?
My favourite album of all time? Titanic Rising by Weyes Blood. It’s so consistent all the way through.
What’s your favourite song by an SA artist/band?
Has to be Paul Kelly’s ‘How To Make Gravy’.
Favourite music-related memory?
The Book Of Mormon by Trey Parker & Matt Stone had me in stitches with so many catchy tunes. It really opened up how I looked at musicals from then on. Otherwise, it would have to be ‘Hot Patootie’ by Meatloaf in Rocky Horror Picture Show.
