After a monster first half of the year screening some of the best cult films of all time, The Piccadilly has unveiled the end-of-year program for their highly successful Dogs Can Look Up series.

Focusing on cult films from a wide range of genres, every Friday from now until December, The Piccadilly will feature a cult film beloved by moviegoers.

The program kicks off tonight with the Nic Cage classic Con Air. Arguably one of the great action flicks of the ‘90s, the film follows Cage as Cameron Poe, a convicted murderer (it was self-defence), who has been paroled and is being flown on a prison transport to be reunited with his family. Things turn south when the plane is hijacked by dangerous criminals, and Poe is forced to work alongside them to make it home.

It’s an absolute thrill ride and features a wild ensemble cast that includes John Cusack, Ving Rhames, Steve Buscemi, Dave Chappelle, Danny Trejo and John Malkovich as Cyrus “The Virus” Grissom.

Other highlights of the end-of-year program include Arnold Schwarzenegger’s sci-fi classic Total Recall, Oscar-winning indie drama Little Miss Sunshine, Francis Ford Coppola’s war epic Apocalypse Now, vampire comedy What We Do in the Shadows and a double bill of Die Hard and Die Hard 2: Die Harder.

Dogs Can Look Up is just one of several film series The Piccadilly is running, with cinefiles also able to experience all of the James Bond films, classic noirs and a selection of 33mm films.

The Piccadilly’s Dogs Can Look Up program runs from July to December. Check out the full lineup of films and grab tickets via wallis.com.au.
