Karl Urban Joins Supanova Adelaide 2026 Lineup

Good and bad news for those heading along to Supanova this year. Organisers behind the annual pop culture festival have announced that Elijah Wood will no longer be attending, which sucks, but his replacement is a pretty good get, with Kiwi actor Karl Urban now appearing.

Urban has signed on for an exclusive, Sunday-only appearance in Adelaide, which is awesome for SA pop culture fans.

One of the stars of The Lord of the Rings, Urban has also featured in Judge Dredd,  Star Trek, Mortal Kombat 2 and the hit superhero series The Boys.

Along with Urban, several Colonial Marines from Aliens are heading down under. Jenette Goldstein (Private Vasquez), Mark Rolston (Private Drake), Daniel Kash (Private Spunkmeyer) and Cynthia Dale Scott (Corporal Dietrich) are all appearing at this year's event, along with Carl Toop, who played one of the Alien Warriors.

They join the likes of Christopher Lambert, Mitchell Hope, Lincoln Lewis, Jed Brophy, Stephen Hunter, Bruce Hopkins and many more who will be part of Supanova 2026 at Adelaide Showground from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November.

This year's Supanova is a packed three-day event featuring stacks of famous faces, but there's also plenty of other bits and bobs for pop culture fans to explore, including an array of exhibitions, superstar-led panels, a Funko exclusive and action figure setup from Pop Cultcha, cosplay competitions and the fan favourite The Alley.

Video game enthusiasts can enjoy The Tour, which includes panels and Esports competitions, while Level Up Friday invites students (Years 8-12) to get down to Supanova and discover more about potential career pathways in the arts and tech sector.
