A Good Laugh Comedy Festival 2026 Coming To Mount Barker This May

Catch some of Australia’s funniest stand-ups performing in a wide range of venues across the Mount Barker region this May.
Mount Barker is playing host to new comedy festival A Good Laugh. Presented by Mount Barker District Council and Bamboozled Productions, the inaugural festival runs from Friday 1 to Saturday 16 May across the Mount Barker region.
Headlined by a host of superstar Australian comedians, including Claire Hooper, Damian Callinan, Dilruk Jayasinha, Melinda Buttle, Alex Ward, Michael Hing and Kevin Kropinyeri, A Good Laugh takes place in seven venues in the Mount Barker District Council area, including Tin Shed Distillery, Prancing Pony Brewery, and Mount Barker Town Hall.
“We live in a time where genuine human connection can feel harder and harder to find,” says Louise Clarke of Bamboozled Productions.
“A Good Laugh is our answer to that – a festival that travels to where people already are, brings world-class comedy into their own backyard, and reminds them that shared laughter is one of the simplest and most powerful things we have. I couldn’t be more proud to be bringing this to Mount Barker District.”
One of the key events is The Big Giggle – a free, all-ages family event on the Hahndorf Academy’s lawns featuring roving performers, a comedy stage, workshops for young aspiring comedians and a selection of food trucks.
Early Bird Tickets are $20 until Friday 17 April for all ticketed events aside from the Gala Event Town Hall on Friday 17 April (Damian Callinan and Alex Ward), where Early Bird Tickets are $40. For more information, visit mountbarker.sa.gov.au.

“It’s a huge coup to host the first A Good Laugh Comedy Festival and I encourage residents to turn out in big numbers,” says Mount Barker District Mayor David Leach.
“One of Council’s goals is to grow our events calendar to support resident wellbeing, attract visitors and boost local business outside peak season, and A Good Laugh ticks all these boxes. We also recognise the need for affordable events that cater to all ages – from ticketed events for older audiences to the free family day, A Good Laugh shows comedy is for everyone.”
