Adelaide’s City South Precinct will transform into a bubbling melting pot of cellar door-style experiences later this month. Held on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 from midday to 5pm, Vino & Vibes is a two-date event showcasing some of South Australia’s best wineries, breweries and distilleries across multiple venues in the city’s south.

Presented by City South Association, AEDA and The City of Adelaide, this year’s edition features eight venues hosting different local producers where you can sample the best alcoholic beverages SA has to offer while chowing down on delicious grub at each stop.

This year’s venue list includes Prohibition, Gilbert Street Hotel, Café Troppo, Vitisculpture, Hard Days Night, 55ML, Minor Works and A Prayer for the Wild at Heart. Not only can you sample a tasty red, knock back a froth or savour a cheeky gin, but each venue also provides entertainment, from live music to pottery classes. Find out more about what each venue has planned below.

Prohibition | 22 Gilbert St Adelaide | prohibitionliquor.co

One of Adelaide’s leading gin distilleries has $20 gin flights (3 x Prohibition Gin varieties), $15 discounts on any bottle purchases (if a flight is purchased) and $18 Field Blend Gin Cocktails. There will be a DJ playing tunes on Saturday and live acoustic music on Sunday.

Gilbert Street Hotel | 88 Gilbert St Adelaide | gilbertsthotel.com.au

This quirky pub known for its top-notch grub will have tastings from Darwin Distilling Co. and live music from Cal Williams Jnr on Sunday. More details to come.

This isn’t your bog standard tasting. Try four varieties from Woodstock Wines’ collection while taking a pottery class. Think paint and sip but with clay. There are two tasting sessions available, with Saturday attendees able to have a crack at making pinch pots from 12-2pm for $65 and those going on Sunday given the chance to learn Wheel Throwing from 12-2:30pm for $105. Bookings essential.

Young & Restless DJs will provide the tunes while you enjoy $10 tastings featuring four varietals of Golding Wines.

55ML | 33 Mill St Adelaide | bar55ml.com.au

Who can say no to free wine? 55ML is offering free tastings of Paracombe Wines. There’ll also be snacks and small plates provided and live acoustic tunes from Kyri on Saturday and Cassie on Sunday.

Minor Works Building | 22 Stamford Court Adelaide

Only taking place on Saturday, Youth Options presents Andy Salvanos performing live while you sip on Bent Creek Wines.

A Prayer For the Wild At Heart | 44 Hurtle Square Adelaide | aproayerforthewildatheart.com.au

Hutt Street eatery A Prayer for the Wild at Heart is slinging $10 tasting flights of Le Petite Vanguard Wines or $15 premium tasting flights of Vanguardist Wines while the acoustic tunes of Weezy Listening serenade on Saturday (2-5pm) and the chill keyboard work of Jacqui Lim provides background music on Sunday (2-5pm).

If you’re feeling like kicking on after a few afternoon bevvies, Vibes After Dark has you covered. Book a 3 course Middle Eastern-inspired meal at Diverse City and enjoy your food while entertained by belly dancers or head along to The Irish Club for a night of shared stories, song, music, dancing, and of course, plenty of the black stuff.

To make travel between venues easier, Vino & Beyond is providing free hop-on hop-off buses to and from each location.
